The document summarizes the Belgian electronic identity (eID) card. It was introduced in 1999 to allow Belgian citizens to authenticate electronically, create digital signatures equivalent to handwritten signatures, and access eGovernment services. Over 1 million eID cards have been activated, and by 2009 all Belgian citizens over age 12 will have an eID card. The eID card contains identity information, certificates, and can be used to authenticate the cardholder and digitally sign documents.
The document summarizes a brokerage event on domotics and ICT in healthcare and prevention. The event objectives were to facilitate demand-driven research through industry interaction and identification of research topics and interested parties. Topics discussed included the concepts of smart homes and their market potential given aging populations and increased chronic illness. Several projects using technologies like social charts and home monitoring for conditions like dementia and orthopedic care were also presented. The event concluded with a discussion of technical considerations like interoperability, security, and user requirements.
This document summarizes a session on context aware services from a brokerage event. The session objectives were to identify potential research topics and interested parties in context aware services. The concept of context aware services was defined as services that adapt based on a user's environment, including location, time, health conditions, and social context. Challenges and requirements discussed included accurate indoor positioning, different sensor types, low power devices and networks, security and privacy, usability, and adoption. Over 20 interested parties attended the session and provided input on technologies, standards, applications, user requirements, and business models for context aware services. The goal of the breakout session was to further explore topics that could lead to project proposals and identify potential leaders for
4 car vehicle electronics platform en applicatiesguest3cf4991
This document summarizes a breakout session on car/vehicle electronics platforms and applications from an IBBT Brokerage Event. The session covered topics like infotainment, safety, car electronics platforms, telecommunication gateways, vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication. Examples of V2I and a field trial demonstrating its safety benefits were provided. Remote management of vehicle systems and augmented reality applications were also discussed. The session aimed to explore themes for potential collaborative projects and identify possible partners.
15 transmurale communicatie en data uitwisseling in de gezondheidszorgguest3cf4991
The document summarizes a breakout session on transmural communication and data exchange in healthcare. The session leader was Georges De Moor and topics to be covered included ICT in health, deployment projects versus innovative research, identity management, health information networks, consumer access to health services, decision support systems, biomedical informatics, and telemedicine. Questions focused on perspectives of health authorities and industry, and local versus international initiatives. In conclusions, trends toward shared and personalized care were noted, as well as the central role of electronic health records, importance of privacy and identity management, issues of interoperability and standards, and challenges and opportunities of telemedicine and emerging technologies.
This document discusses networks of innovation and the modern socio-economic transformation. It covers topics like Durkheim's views on norms and networks in modernity, Marx's views on the constant revolution driven by the bourgeoisie, and the founders of semiconductor firms in Silicon Valley. The document also examines weak intellectual property protection in semiconductors, knowledge organizations, the organic innovation model used by open source software communities, and factors driving rapid internet adoption in Korea like urban structure, purchasing power, and PC Bangs.

4. Voorronde
bedienen
economische modellen, toepasbaar in diverse marktsegmenten
Doel kan zijn om hierbij via een Proof of Concept demonstrator een
wezenlijke bijdrage te leveren ten opzichte van de huidige
generatie van systemen."

Conclusies
Assessment – video-based assessment
geneeskunde (open source, dedicated solutions)
Real-time versus asynchronous systeem/lespakket
verschillen? Omvormen?
